OS Updates for AT&T?
Please Login to Remove!
I currently have the Curve 8310 from AT&T. My friend just stopped by and showed me his Curve from Sprint. I was shocked to see that his Curve already has all of the software (video recorder, flash player, etc.etc.) that I have been waiting for, installed in it !! Is there any way I can get my Curve up to speed per say ???

wait for 4.5, there is no release date as of yet... you could try the betas floating around but they are not that stable... and you would have to download it illegally...

I believe the 4.3 OS is just a interim OS for the CDMA pearls & curves. I look forward to 4.5 as well... One thing I do have to say though, it's a shame that RIM has not given the CDMA carriers a version of the 4.3 OS for the 8830 series ... The newer 4.3 OS on the curve compelling enough for some to switch.

Why? It's a newer device and newer devices tend to have newer OS's on them. You can upgrade your Curve when the upgrade is released. OS upgrades aren't released simultaneously for all models.

That would be the issue with relying on beta software (and why it's not an official release).

Will that update give the AT&T Curve the video recording capability? Why would they give you a camera function without video recording but give you the video player on it? Sounds fishy...

Yes, the update below will give the AT&T Curve video recording capability. Just make sure you follow the upgrading instructions!

Nothing fishy at all. The OS in the link is from Vodafone, but is the full release Blackberry OS. As mentioned above, follow the instructions exactly, and you'll be fine. I upgraded last week, and all is fine. Video recorder works like a champ, reinstalled the older BBMaps app, which works like a charm, etc. It'll take an hour or two, but is worth the update. This OS looks a lot more polished than the previous.

Actually, the OS in the link is from A1. The Vodafone OS is no longer the newest (as of earlier today).

I don't understand your question/reasoning. This was a limitation on all pre-4.3 Curves. How is that fishy?

Bosco, where did you find OS 4.5 for AT&T? Did you use another carrier's OS?

He's talking about this one. It's the only 4.5.0.44 available.

The latest officially released version is 4.5.0.44 w/ platform 2.7.0.62. Anything over that is not official and cannot be distributed.

os update
I recently updated my AT&T os and I absolutely love it. I haven't noticed any problems with the phone and I have all of the bonus features like video and being able to receive and view MMS video. Which is pretty cool. I had read that battery life was a small setback but I haven't noticed any more draw on the battery than it did under the 4.2.2 os. Just wanted to chime in!!
