7100 and Bluetooth
After reading an article earlier about verizon customers their carrier for giving them dumbed down BT technology in the phone (no file tfer, discovering other phones, etc.....) I got to thinking. Has anyone tried to figure out how to enable those features on the 7100? It sure would make things a lot more convenient.

RIM disabled these due to security concerns (ie. bluejacking)

A few subtle differences; RIM never advertised full Bluetooth capabilities. Verizon had them removed.

I understand your point. My question is, can these features be unlocked at the phone level? Has anyone tried?

It is my understanding that the hardware can not be modified, and RIM controls the software. Since most of the APIs are under RIMs control and signed, there are no "hacks" available today. I would suggest it is a good way to break the BB.
