Is there a way to scan a barcode from a pic saved in your bb file?

i.e. using my bb browser, i went to a website... saw a barcode i wanted & saved it as a pic. Now, as a pic, how do i scan the barcode? And, was there a way to scan the barcode from the webpage on my bb browser?

Is there an app that allows you to do that without using your camera as the scanner?

No way I've ever found. QR codes can be read by BB camera sometimes (they are not reliable), but plain old bar codes no... Bar codes seem to need active scanning to be read and a camera doesn't count. Anyone else know? This might work if you have the right model, but it got a bad review.
