Default Track ball rolls fine, but multiple hard presses needed to click

Please Login to Remove!

My 8900 is 5 months old.

In the last few days, it has become very difficult to press the track ball to accept a command. It takes multiple, very hard presses.

Rolling the track ball while pressing doesn't seem to clean things up. Cold, battery pull rebooting doesn't help either.

Suggestions?

I was in Cancun and came back with the same issue. I'm not sure if it was the humidity over there or what. I've been back for a week and it is slowly improving (or maybe I'm getting used to it). The water damage indicators are fine.

TMO is sending me a new one.

Wirelessly posted

The 8900 is a different beast. That solution won't work without voiding your warranty.

Well if it's still under warranty why even mess with it? If it's out go for it. I am presuming that the 8900 is like the bold where you have to disassemble to get to the trackball? After the tear down the same procedure would apply.

The local T-Mobile store confirmed the 8900 trackball is not easily disassembled.

They suggested warranty replacement via phone customer service....
