Default 8120 Newbie - Mass Storage Questions

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all.

I have been all over looking for answers to my questions, and just can't seem to find them, so I am going to ask and hope that there are some nice (and patient) people out there who can help me.

Let me start by saying that I am pretty much computer illiteriate, so I am goign to need a lot of help. My operating system is Vista (not by choice).

I am trying to figure out how to get my videos from my micro SD to my laptop.

I formatted the card on my BB.

I recorded and saved the video.

I connected to laptop and set for mass storage.

My laptop is NOT identifying the device. It says it is waiting for user input?

WHAT DO I DO TO SOLVE THIS?

From there... how do I access the device and SD card to get the videos off?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated! THANK YOU!!

go to options > media card > then "mass storage mode support" shoul dbe set to on and auto enable mass storage mode when connected, you can set it on for automatic detection or prompt and your BB will prompt you if you want mass storage to be enabled

I have done that already...

I conect to laptop with mass storage on.

I am prompted to locate the driver software and I click to do so.

Nothing happens from there.

Along the bottom I click on Unidentified device installed and it says it is waiting for user input

Is Desktop Manager loaded to your laptop?
BlackBerry Desktop Manager Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ

Get version 4.2 SP2, or ver 4.3, withOUT Media Manager.

Install that, and try again.

I installed the above software, and still cannot get it to identify the device.

If I put the SD card in my old BB and connect, I have no problems connecting and accessing the info on the SD card.

I'm at a loss....

Wirelessly posted (Sex Machine)

You've downloaded the wrong software. You need to download the Desktop Manager Software. The version should read 4.3 b25. the file you download will have a name of 430_b025_multilanguage_nomediamanager.exe. That's the one that needs to be installed.

Please post back with an update of the situation.

Cheers!
