Question G-Mail through an BES and ISA server configuration

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all

Was looking for a little help, I have a request from one of my users to provide gmail through our Corporate Blackberry system.

I have downloaded Gmail for testing, however, I can't seem to get it to work through our ISA server, does anyone have any suggestions;
Yahoo Go and Google Maps works fine just not Gmail.

I was under the impression that Gmail used https for device to google communications and in all other cases https works fine through our ISA server.

When I try to access Gmail I get the following error:

Network unavailable: This program requires a data connection, and some Blackberry devices require reconfiguration to work properly...

Any assistance on this would be great, I am tearing what little hair I have left out on this one.

Thank you in anticipation
John

Most admins would say it's not supported and end it there. LOL

I've always accessed my gmail on the web so I don't have experience here.

When I get to work I'll try to find time to experiment. No guarantees (That I'll have time or come up with anything use full.) But I'll try.

Not all BB software can deal with MDS.

Start the log on ISA and then try to access the GMail app. See if there are any denied requests and what ports are being accessed.

You may need to enable SecureNAT outbound connections on ISA for the BB devices.

Thanks for this, however, after checking the logs there is no record of the Blackberry device accessing the ISA server. However, when I run Yahoo! Go I get a hit on the ISA server.

Any more ideas would be most appreciated
