Hi

Has anyone found a way to allow users to have access to make calls while the phone is screen locked.

We have had to set a fairly tight password policy to comply with corporate standards, and this makes it a pain if a user wants to call out.

I don't have the list here with me, but I could have sworn there is a rule that can be set that allows this.

Yes, there is in BES 4.0.... Allow Outgoing Call When Locked, which can be set under the "Security" policy group.

Only works with a 4.0 BES and a 4.0 Handheld.

There is one more step - on the handheld

After applying the policy for "Allow Outgoing Call When Locked" you need to enable this function under Options->Security on the handheld.

That makes sense... IT Policies restrict functionality, they don't permit it... In other words, if a user wants to increase their own security, there's no reason for an IT Policy to decrease it...

Therefore, if the user themselves doesn't want to allow outgoing calls when locked, an IT policy shouldn't override it.
