We sucsessfully just upgraded to BES 4, and now need to get our handhelds onto the 4.0 firmware. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% on which users have which models. I know we mostly have 7100t's. There are quite a few 7230's around. And I know there are a few straggler 5810's out there. Other than the few 7100 and 7230 units on 4.0, I can't tell what model BB they have. Is there anyway to tell via PIN? Or maybe an app I can run on the BES server that querries the handsets?
no and no. BES 4.0 has it built into the Handheld Manager, but unfortunately that requires OS 4.0 and a successful Enterpise Activation. generally, an email would suffice (atleast thats how i got the info from our BES 3.6 users)..

Generally speaking, if we are talking GPRS devices, if the PIN is less than 2002xxx than the device is likely an 8MB 6710 or a 5810, both of which won't run 4.0.
