i know that this has been asked many times before, but i need to know- is it worth it? which are great things with bold that my curve cant do ( i dont use 3g btw)? any bad things you can tell me about bold?

I see no reason to use an 8300-series with the Bold out.

If you don't use 3G then the Javelin (8900) is your best option. GPS included and the most beautifully crafted Blackberry to date, you can't go wrong.

I use my 8310 for personal use only. No work related use and I have to charge my phone every other day at least. The only downsides to the bold are minor ones in my eyes. The cost. The fact that it is a bit bigger. Att bold has no option to run just edge so if you don't have 3g in your area your phone will constantly be searching for it so battery life with be affected. The keyboard will take some getting used to.

Some good points areif you are in a 3g area you will have it. Free wifi. Faster processor. More internal memory. Bigger and higher resolution screen. Once you do get used to the keyboard it is much nicer. And as far as price is concerned, if you cand upgrade then you'll save money. You can also sell your old bb to make some of that money back. If you have your bb for a year and save just a dollar a day by not buying food when your out and just bring food with you then it will pay for itself

A point of reference: If you are really not using 3G (or AT&T for that matter), the 8900 has as good a resolution with a similar screen-size (or bigger) as the Bold, yet it is a smaller/lighter/sexier phone with a full keyboard.

Worth is subjective. Compare the features & specs at Blackberry.com. Check out the devices you're looking at in person. No one can tell you if it's worth it to you. You'll get the same answer for any BB model comparison.

I have the 8310 which I've had for about a year now. Once I get my tax $$$ back, I'm going Bold.

If you go to Best Buy and extend your contract, it will run you $300, and you don't have to wait for a rebate either. Which is what I will be doing in a week or 2.

The different overall size is a factor, as is the style of keyboards used on both models. It comes down to personal preference and the importance of certain feature sets.

For the Bold, I appreciate 3G not for it's speed, but for simultaneous voice and data. If I'm on a call and expecting an important email that's time-sensitive, 3G allows that mail to be delivered while I'm talking. I can end the conversation and deal with the mail as it arrives if needed.

Sending and receiving 30-50 emails per day makes me appreciate the Bold's keyboard. It's my favorite of all the keyboards they've ever used, even trumping the 8700's.

wait, wait, i know im bouncing kinda old thread back, but someone said that my network isnt 3g my battery will drain fast? i live in serbia and i dont have 3g coverage? hmmm is bold a smart option then?

The Bold is much better than the curve, I have this phone it ok, but it does not have the video the bold I was told is better, than the curve. That will be my next phone.
