Hello folks...

I just picked up my BB 8703e this morning from the Verizon Wireless store. While charging... I decided to install the Blackberry Desktop Software that came in the box. Well... it gets partially through the installation and throws the following error:

Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contacts your support personnel or package vendor.

I imagine that this means the CD is bad. Can I simply download 4.1 from the BB website and it work? Or would this CD somehow be customized for Verizon Wireless?

I have the same problem as smallville20 with Error 1720.
Just got a 8703e from Sprint and when I installed the software it came up with Error 1720 (There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A script required for this install to complete could not run).

I downloaded V 4.2 as people have suggested and it still comes up with Error 1720.

Any ideas?? Thx
