Default wifi password issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hello

I have some issue connecting to a wifi network:

We have 2 wifi profiles configured in the same router.

Each one has diferent SSID. The configuration is the same for both of them, but one, is wpa personal password protected, and the other one is a open wify network, but with a web access portal configured.

The web access portal wifi, works fine, i can connect with the playbook, and log in with the web access.

But, i can connect to the wpa personal one. I think might be cause the password. The password is something like: xxxx#xxxxxxxx

I thing the # character is the problem, cause i get password error message.

I have also configure a hot spot on my iphone, and trying diferent passwords, the ones with some special characters are not working

Is this happening to someone else?

Thanks!!!

What happens if you set the network up to use simple WEP with a traditional 10-character password consisting only numbers and letters?

I had problems connecting wifi devices when I was using a password with a special character too. That was before I had the PlayBook. I changed the password and removed the special character and haven't had any problems since. I'm using WPA 2 which is a lot more secure than WEP which can be easily cracked.

Its a network from a big company, so i cant change to wep cause security, and cant change password, we have changed it 3 weeks ago and has to be a secure password, letters, numbers, some symbols.. hard to crack

So its not only me... hope they solve this with a new firm or an update, cause now all the vip users want a playbook, and is going to be a real problem in a few weeks :S

Thanks both for the answers!

I ran into a corporate WiFi problem after this latest OS update also. Multiple special characters in the WPA2 password.

I was able to resolve the problem by forcing the WiFi to 2.4 GHz (change the "dual mode" setting to 2.4GHz). This is probably an OS bug, but it works for me now.
