I'm pretty sure that no data is kept "In the SKY".

As noted, the backups are kept somewhere on the RIM servers. The exact location is not specified.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, or serious.
Do you really not know what cloud storage is? I can explain it if you want.

Go away penguin. Obviously, I know what cloud storage is. I also know that it's not "In the SKY" and that it's not called a "thingy". Sheesh.

Well, that's where you're wrong. Cloud storage most certainly is "in the sky".

Your attitude towards users on this forum is toxic. How about spending a little less time being unnecessarily abrasive and more time being helpful?

Many thanks for that my learned people. You see I was a little nervous as just wondered where the info is stored but now I know it is on a RIM secure place somewhere safe that is good for me and yes I have already downloaded and tried the PROTECT and it all looks very impressive.
All the very best.

magician, google (or bing, or whichever) is your good, good friend. And sometimes Wikipedia is good enough. If you haven't already, read the introduction at Cloud storage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. That may be all you want to know.

Also, security has different meanings sometimes for different people. You may be talking about assurance that you will be able to restore your data if need be. If so, I wouldn't be concerned, but I would be aware that Protect doesn't do a full backup in the same sense as a full backup with Desktop Manager. I know you haven't asked, but my advice would be to do regular backups with desktop manager and rely on Protect for an emergency when you don't have access to your backup on your computer.

When I need your advice, I will let you know.

I will be looking for those servers floating in the atmosphere. Or not.
