We are aware we can push applications to the handhelds using BES 5.0.1 using the follow link: (sorry, can't post links yet because I don't have 10 posts)

However, I do not know where to locate the .zip files. Let's take FACEBOOK for example. I went to this link (sorry, can't post links yet because I don't have 10 posts)

...to attempt to download the FACEBOOK application to my computer but it wants to download to directly to the phone. Perhaps I am missing something here or don't know where to find the .zip file for FACEBOOK and other applications.

You won't find it, because it doesn't exist.
Not all applications are available in .cod/.alx format (contained in the .zip) which can be distributed from BES.

Some advanced BES admins will make their own .zip packages by "converting" .jar/.jad modules into .cod/.alx format. I've never seen it done with the Facebook app though.
I'm sure it could be done with a bit of playing. It gets tricky because not all modules work on all device models. You run the risk of pushing the wrong module to a handheld and causing some issues.

My recommendation is to only push applications which are designed to be pushed.
