Default Anybody experience weak signal with .114 Hybrid?

Please Login to Remove!

I've noticed this but it might just be coincidental but my signal strength is no where near what it was before. And it recently got worse when unloaded to the .114 hybrid OS. Has anybody else on the hybrid OS experienced this too, or is it just coincidence? Also, I was thinking modifying the already modified OS and placing the radio cod file from the .75 software to the .114 OS. Can I do that?

Yes, but it's only the indicator reading, not the signal strength itself-- in actuality, there's no difference between the old OS and .114 Hybrid as far actual signal strength, IMO. Occasionally, I'll see my meter go to no bars and then full strength. I'm sure it's only in the way their software is gauging the signal levels.

I've seen the exact same issue on one of my bikes, when I changed my gas gauge for an after-market unit, which would read empty when the bike would head into a lean and then full once again when straightened out.

I was using the .114 hybrid before I returned my Storm. Signal strength was very, very erratic. I was on SOS sometimes when friends had three bars, then I'd go to five bars.

Ur comparing a phone to a bike a gauge....lol...jk...I see ur point though...its true..ill have what looks like little 1XEV but when I'm talking or using the browser it'll be okay. I just hate it when it goes out of 1EXV and into 1x....that's when it really frustrates me.

.114 is leaked version OS which is not stable. I advise you to downgrade to an official version. This is .113 which is identical to .114. I tried both and I decided to stay with .113. In many forums people complain about .114, why to keep .114 in your device?

Yup, I compared the two, but it was only an analogy, but the answer was quite precise. In the Hybrid version I noticed the issue, but I don't believe it is what is shows...and as far as the 1X thing goes, it happens on my Curve too when I get off a call - for a few secs and then goes back to 1EXV. Thing is, even when I'm showing low signal, web is as fast as with full signal and phone is always perfect. You get my point --

Most complaints about .114 were corrected via the hybrid build. As to signal indicator, I haven't lost signal while in use and still am able to use all functions in all the places I've aleays been able to (including in tunnels 20 feet underground, which I could never do with sprint or cingular), although the meter sometimes show I have a weaker reception... Maybe it is just a quirky meter giving false readings?

The only 2 issues I have had with the hybrid is: 1) Last night it did not charge, even though it showed it was. It's happened before on other phones so I am not worried unless it repeats it tonight. 2) The alerts seem to be messing with the audio player while on A2DP. It'll sometimes pause/cut off the music until another alert plays or I pause and press play again! Very weird, but that's the life of a hybrid beta!

My signal bar will sometimes go empty when I know i'm in a strong signal area...I can even stream youtube on empty..I think its just a bug that happens when you switch to a new signal source or something, but dont quote me on that.

had this happen to my phone and called verizon it would go from all bars to 0 bars when i was on a call then drop the call and then go to the main page and go from 0 bars to full bars they did something to my phone through the network and got better and told me to *832 when it did it and it would figure out the problem by saving a message on the network on what was going on with my phone at that time. Its getting better but not 100%

I have the hybred v2 and I have put the storm away for a couple days out of frustration as I go from 5 down to off. I will downgrade in a couple days to 113 and see what that does.

I just loaded the v2 hybrid and I have had no issues with reception. in fact, before I was having that EDGE/edge issue but now it holds EDGE perfectly. it's a real problem when the phone drops to edge because you get no data service - kind of defeats the whole purpose of having a Storm.

Overall my opinion is that .113 is better for zippiness on the device but the .114 hybrid is better on the radio. I think the higher platform on .113 is why, but i could be wrong.
