Default Finding Satellites

Please Login to Remove!

I have a blackberry curve 8330 with verizon. I just recently got the updated OS so I can use the internal GPS on BB maps. However, everytime I try to use it now it just sits at finding satellites and never finds anything.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 11000 Colosol)

Are you trying indoors or out doors? You need to be outside to get GPS to work

I've also found it is not very dependable indoors, rarely works. Outside works great.

If it doesn't work outside, you could try resending your service books (go to the Verizon BIS site, log in, and click the Service Books option)

In order to access the BIS site from a computer, not your phone, you will need to create a username and password. This is done from your phone via the E-mail Settings icon.

Within E-mail Settings, under Settings, click on Create User Name.

ASSUMING he's on the BIS, and not a BES, correct?

If you are around tall buildings it will be spotty at best. You really need to be in the burbs with a clear view of the sky.

are you sure your GPS is turned on? i had to manually do this after i upgraded my OS.

optoins///advanced optoins///GPS

and what program are you trying to use your GPS? currently, unless you pay for a VZNav subscription, verizon users are limited to BBMaps for GPS functions (on 4.5 OS). personally, BBMaps does what i need it to for my GPS needs, but if you want something better, you'll have to subscribe to VZNav or purchase some other external GPS
