Default Ok... now I am mad... Bold died!!

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded my new bold to the latest software. I was watching a video clip and all of a sudden the phone froze. After 2 min I pulled the battery and put it back in. Now I got nothing!! No LED, Nothing!

I plug it into the laptop and still nothing. I have tried many things already.

What the hell?

I am at least suppose to get an LED to come on when I plug into the comp even without the battery right??

This BB has been nothing but trouble since I got it. Looks like It is 100% toast.

No LED when plugged in... nothing.

I found tons of forum threads with the same issue and all had to send it back.

This happened after installing newest OS. I know I did it right I am not a newb with computers. It went fine.

Grrrrrr

Tons of threads?
What is the latest version you upgraded to?
Try leaving the battery in.
Have you used JLCmder to connect?

Yes, lots of threads using google. No answers, just people asking the op questions.

JLCmder will not work as it cannot see the phone. Computer will not see phone. No LED comes on when plugged in.

Version is Package Version: 4.6.0.477
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.0.282

I followed instructions from sticky in this sub-forum...

Keep trying JLCmder. It will work or follow the alternative method if JLCmder won't connect.

tried 50 times. It will not see phone because it is dead. It is not my computer I tried on my co-workers.

It will not work because phone is soooo dead that computer can not see it.

Phones that die but still get a red LED light CAN be recovered with this... I know that. I used DOS prompt as well.

Mine wont.

This is the only thing I have read that seems to work for some people. Should I leave it plugged in though?

Hope it works.

Dont see why leaving it plugged in would do anything.
just leave the battery out for a day.

Ok... some just say they charged it overnight with a desktop charger (I assume thats an out of the phone charger) and it worked when they popped it in. But that sounds like a overly dead battery which is not my case.

ok. thanks.

just to confirm:
same thing happened to me on thursday afternoon. the bold was completely dead. I removed the battery and put it back in on friday morning with no result. nothing happened. so I pulled it out again and back in after I came home from work in the evening.
It's working fine since. I don't know why, but keeping the battery out of the device over 24 hours was what helped.
hope this helps

If the problem occurs again, maybe you need a new battery.
