Default Help please with new Verizon 8330C

Please Login to Remove!

I dropped my Verizon BB 8703E in the water yesterday and it's basically shot, so I picked up an 8330C from Verizon today. I'm using Desktop 4.1.1.9. I'm having two issues.

1. I can't seem to complete the enterprise activation using the Verizon set up wizard. It's just hanging. How long is that supposed to take? I've waited 15 minutes. Is there a work around for that? A a side question, the wizard asked my for my email address and password. I was assuming that the password they need is the one that I use to sign into Lotus Notes, is that correct?

2. I can't sync my addresses! I received a message that said that the Desktop software couldn't sync my addresses because wireless synchronization is turned on. I can't figure out how to turn it off. Wen I go to Options, it's showing up as "Options - Advanced" and I can't get into the regular options view.

Thanks for any light you can shed!

Welcome to the forums.

You may need to upgrade your Desktop Manager to get things to work properly, so that's the first thing I'd recommend.

Also, is this a BIS only device, or is it connected to a BES?

Did you first do an ESN change from your old BB to your new one?

You can do it via Verizon's website, call customer service, or take it into a store.

The Blackberry that I dropped in the lake is connected to a BES. What version of software should I be using?

If you are trying to reconnect the replacement (8330) device to a BES, you should talk to your BES Admin to get it up and running in place of the 8703. The device will need to complete an Enterprise Activation to get up and running as the other one did.

I didn't do an ESN change (unless that was something that they did at the Verizon store without telling me specifically). Could you (or whoever reads this) send me a link to the page on the Verizon site where this can be updated. I hunted around and couldn't find it.

I believe that poster meant an ESN change on your BIS website, which will not help you get the device connected to your company BES.

No can do. They told me that they will not support Blackbeyy devices from any carriers other than Sprint. I managed to get the 8703 working fine on my own (with help from people on this site), so I'm hoping that I can do that again!

Ah. Any advice on how I can get out of the Advanced Options screen? When I click on Options, it goes straight to advanced.

Well, good luck then. I can't help you with that (since I'm also a BES Admin and this goes against what I'd help someone at my company with).

FYI that they can also 'whitelist' the BES to allow only specific models, too....

Press the Escape key - right of the trackball.

That doesn't do anything when I'm in that screen. It works in every other menu though.

This is a post from a couple years ago that I made which the responder gave me the info I needed to get me set up on the BES. Unfortunately clicking the track ball in the Host Routing Table doesn't result in getting an option that says "register now". Is there another way to get there with the 8330?
