Hi group. New to the forums and hoping that you can help guide me in the right direction. I have a BB8100 Pearl on Tmobile which I use primarily for work. Its connected to a BES and the home office locked a few of the goodies that the BB are supposed to be able to perform....one of those being Text Messaging. I can receive incoming texts, but I can't reply or send them.
The tweaks that my company put on the phone are supposed to do things like block IM, SMS and outside email. I have loaded the gmail program and can access my email since its a 3rd party application. I used to have a Treo and I know that there were programs that would run the SMS portion of the phone by using their software. So, the question is, is there anything like that for the BB that will be a separate program that runs just SMS text messaging? I 'm thinking that this might be my only work-around to get it working on my phone.
There is no program like this. They have SMS blocked and there's no way around it. Also, keep in mind that attempting to circumvent their policy is a good way to put your job in jeapardy.
You can email a text to others cell phones by using Teleflip or other similar services.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'm just stuck without text, which is why I have 2 phones...kinda sucks. I'll look into the teleflip, but I think that sending the text messages via my email would get sticky with work requirements.
