So I tried to download the new update last night after work and it got to about 15% backup progress and got stuck at 18% sms messages. After letting it sit for over an hour I got tired of not being able to use my phone. I can turn it off take the battery out etc and it still wont do anything. Just brings me back to the update screen and gets stuck on sms messages.

Is there anyway to abort the update or something? It was supposed to be updating all night but didn't do anything.

Took it to the sprint store today, which is always a major PITA, and they can't fix it apparently. They ordered a replacement for me that will be there tomorrow but they said there is a good chance I'll lose all my contacts .

Has anyone else had their phone commit suicide like this? Oh yea, its a 9630...
