Default Closing Browser

Why is it that the browser is always running on the application switcher list? I closed the browser thru its menu, and did not see any reason why it should be kept running in the background?

Thanks.

because it does.
Just like home, messages, phone, and blackberry messenger.
Doing what you did is a good thing, as it does not leave the browser running on an active page.
You should go menu - close
but it will never not be in that list.

actually you'll find those 5 apps are always running in the background.
thats why you must use menu - close on the browser to make sure it isnt on an active page. otherwise it would run in the background draining battery when on an active page.

On my previous BB 8830, I do not recall seeing a Browser icon on the application switcher. Thats why I asked this question when I have my Tour.
