Default Unlocked Curve: How to change service?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I currently have AT&T service and there are certain parts where T-Mobile is better. How can I choose between what service to use with an unlocked curve? Will I get charged roaming fees or any other fees using another provider's satellites? Thank You

You would need an account with TMobile. Unlocking simply allows you to use other carrier's sim cards. It won't allow you to roam differently on your AT&T account.

You just need to sign up with TMo, port your number over and insert the chip.

However, if you have nationwide roaming with ATT, you won't be charged roaming fees, the network will move over automatically.

How do you know what satellites you are using? Mine uses towers placed on the terrain.

Thanks. All this time I though it would have been possible to use other carrier's service while using the same sim card. Guess I was wrong

spiroh, your ATT sim might roam to another carrier, often when you are out of your home area and without a ATT signal. But to use another carrier exclusively, you will need their service and their sim.

Good luck.

There are roaming agreements between TMo and Cingular only in select areas. If, in your area, you can't get signal on TMo, then it's because Cingular doesn't have a roaming agreement. It's the same the other way around, too. Us TMo users can't use AT&T anywhere we want either. If they had a good agreement then we would all have coverage everywhere and we wouldn't want that, now would we?

You clearly never installed the satellite OS upgrade (ver 3.14159)... (doesn't get all the TMo service books, but you can stream Radio Free Mars with this one).

I gotta get me one of those. Are you saying the satellite connection on my 8800 has been crippled?
