Default Unlocked ATT curve to work on T-Mobile

Please Login to Remove!

Im a newbie to this forum but have been reading for a while now. I recently purchased an unlocked Curve that is supposed to work on Cingular and T-mobile. I inserted my SIM and only the phone works. I cannot get online or setup email. I get error messages about "not configured" or "no browser configured". What do I need to do to get it to work? I've been trying to follow the steps that I read in the various forums but, no luck. I just did the OS. Im not familiar with the technical issues. Is there a step by step instruction out there? If the steps are listed, I"ll look for the individual procedures. Thanks.

If you are using the Curve on TMo and using OS v4.2.2.89 then you will not get a Browser. The OS needs to be downgraded to 4.2.2.67

You can get it from here:

BlackBerry from O2 - Help and support

Delete any other OS versions you may have installed to your PC by going to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs.

Then do the following:
Download and install the OS from the above link.
Delete vendor.xml file located in c:/program files/common files/research in motion/apploader
Plug in BB, open Desktop Manager and run application loader. It will notify you that a downgrade will take place. Finish the loading.

When it's done, go to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table click menu and select Register now.

One thing to note, if you are new to Blackberry you'll need to make sure that you have a "Blackberry" Data Plan on your account.

Default Unlocked Curve on T-mobile AND Mac user

I'm having the same problem trying to get my t-mobile browser on my unlocked blackberry curve.

The browser icon is missing on the home screen, the only web icon is the "t-zones" icon. When I open this icon I keep getting an error message. I am able to surf the web, however, I can't seem to change the web home page so everytime I access the web I get this annoying error message.

The blackberry is running on 4.2.2.89 and I understand that I need to downgrade the OS to properly use the T-mobile browser, HOWEVER, I am a mac user and am using pocketmac to sync my crackberry.

Therefore I can't follow the same instructions using the Desktop Manager to downgrade my software....or can I do this via pocketmac? HELP!

Thanks!

1. Delete all service book
2. Reboot Device
3. Resend all service book by logging into your BIS account
4. Enjoy

Default more browser questions

I think Im more confused now. When BIS is mentioned, what does that mean. Im sending the service books from t-mobile. Im assuming BIS is blackberry internet service? Is that an additional monthly fee/plan with blackberry?

Also, when I start to re-send my service books, i log onto the phone, and wheni go into service books, the are already loading. (Before i send them). I actually see them loading.

I do get the email notification of activation adn registration. after sending the service books and registering the HRT.

Thanks
