Hello,

I currently use a Gizmokin case for my BlackBerry 7100t. I'm planning to replace it with the RIM OEM case (ratchet system). I usually wear the case horizontally and after some usage, the Gizmokin clip became loose and would not stay at the horizontal position.

I would like to know how strong is the ratchet in the RIM case? Will it become loose as in the case with the Gizmokin.

Won't come off your belt, but the ratchet mechanism is not that tight. Mine rotates around the clip some.

I was afraid it will be a little loose.

Do you know of any other brand that will fit the profile. I have tried one too many cases with the ratchet system and they tend to be loose and not keep the case horizontally after some time. I guess I will have to find a lateral case.

The ratcheting of my 8700 OEM case is very loose.

Often times it moves postions on my hip without my knowledge.

Larry, That is same clip as the other OEM cases... which last a long time. Do you think yours is bad?

I'm really not sure.

I checked the second one I ordered (I've yet to open it) and it's hard to tell if there's any difference.

I guess it's just possible it's not as tight as I'd like it to be.

The ratchet on my case is actually pretty tight. I can wear it horizontally if I want to. I have the OEM case for my 8700.
