Wirelessly posted (8320 Titanium)
I just installed the beta and I find the browser very very sluggish compared to the bb browser on my 8320

From what I read on the larger thread on this, the product has improved but still has a way to go.

I find it almost unusable on the Storm. The cursor positions under your finger when you touch the screen. Thus, your finger obscures the exact position of the cursor. When there are multiple small links on the page, close together, it's nigh-on impossible to activate the exact one you want.
The way the BB Browser works (on the Storm) is MUCH better in this regard. For one, the cursor display above/beside your finger, so when you're touching the screen, you can see EXACTLY what link you're selecting. And two, just touching the screen doesn't activate the link. You have to actually click the screen. With Bolt, just touching and releasing the screen activates the link, so if you *could* see which link you were touching, you still wouldn't be able to keep from activating it, if it was the wrong one.

I had to get rid of Bolt. It was totally unusable, like StuartV said. I can barely navigate links, doesn't yet use click function, just touch, and the poor implementation of their zoom feature. Let me know when Bolt is out of beta and I'll give it another try.
(Still waiting for Firefox mobile on the Storm)

I can't even get the damned thing to load and run.
Had .73 and all I would ever get was the error "Internet Not Available"
Then tried updating to .83 and I get nothing but "Download Fails"
Most miserable beta test I have ever done... can't even get the software to run.

I also found that, after I ran Bolt, even if I did Menu/Exit (or Close or whatever it says), I could no longer run Opera Mini until I did a battery pull. I don't think the BB Browser worked, either.

I tried it and it's ok. The trackball is really hard to control though.

Tried it, had it for 3 days, and then had to delete it.
Yes, the pages load a lot faster the with bb browser. But the trackball response is horrible, and, most importantly, I had issues accessing sites that required authentication. Lately, I started getting the message "internet not available". That was the last drop...
Seemed promising, I will keep an eye on it. Hopefully the trackball issues can be fine-tuned in the future releases.

Has anybody tried the new "public" beta? Does it fix any of the useability issues on the Storm?

Not sure on the Storm, I use a Curve. The cursor movement has improved but there is still room for more improvement.
Give it a shot.

I loaded it up tonight (public beta), and unfortunately found it pretty awkward to use on my 8900, especially when I had to roll over a data entry field, click and enter -- I should probably give it more of a chance (and I usually do - just impatient tonight perhaps), but I found the initial experience irritating - not compelling. I should probably try again when I'm feeling more patient...

Very awkward to use on my 8330. I deleted it. It's not ready for prime-time. Maybe they should call it Spark?

Running Bolt .86 on .103.
Not really StuartV. Although it's faster than JSConyers replying to a post, it still has cursor issues. Loading high image sites is done at breakneck speeds, better than OM IMHO. but because cursor control is so difficult by touch I'm sticking with OM for now.
If we could get a larger font than XXLarge, the touch links might be easier to use, and there is still no folder options for fav's.
It's almost there... and will be a great app if cursor control/link selection can be made easier for the 95xx (and other BB's).
