Do gsm phones have esn numbers? I thought that was only a cdma thing... because if I remember right it's used to activate a phone to a number?
And I've never seen an esn number on my phone now that I'm tmobile, so I figured it was a cdma thing only

CDMA phones have ESN's.
GSM phones have IMEI's.
They are both basically unique identifiers for each handset.

Is the ESN stored anywhere in the BES database or the daily logs?
