BES 4.1 SP 5: New features/bugs discussion
Please Login to Remove!
Has anyone installed yet? I have, and was wondering what new things other people were noticing. I know most of it is for OS 4.5, but things like monitoring service and a few other odds and ends should be available now.
I can't find any documentation on RIM's site for any of this. How do I get the monitoring service up and running?

Well they've been saying it is coming with next SP since SP2 and would not be surprised if it is still not included in this SP.

I had to browse to my extracted folder location, and run the BMS415.exe.

BMS415.exe was also in the 4.1.4 release for Groupwise, interesting setup to say the least.

No, but I don't even think the check availability is supposed to work until OS 4.5. I'm mostly interested in the ability to search email on the Exchange server. That kicks a$$.

This functionality is not enabled in RIMs 4.1 SP5 release.

How long did it take to upgrade? Just curious.
I have decent hardware and only 30 users.

Lol. No, you aren't. There won't be any changes to your BB by installing a new BES version. When you install OS 4.5, you will be able to use the new functions that come with that, now that you have the new BES version.

For the most part, server-side changes aren't noticeable in this release without OS 4.5 from the device. There will be the availability of OTASL, but that will be enabled by RIM at some point (and BlackBerry Manager will have the option dynamically enabled).
HTML email is not officially added, although I may throw up a script that will enable it for you, although it's no longer configurable from the GUI and was visually pulled from this release for a reason.
Monitoring, for what it's worth, has been added. It's not that good.
If you need an installation guide for SP5 (and if it's not available), reference the SP4 guide for refresher information (or learn how to click the Next button).

Pretty much just monitoring, and "force calendar reconciliation" is what I've seen so far.
