hi all just got a new bold from ebay and i put my vodafone sim in all working fine. vodafone sold me a blackberry sock for 4.99 a month which im not rarely sure why is it necessary to have one. or can i link my phone to my inbox without it. all so i used to download applications from all about sybian as the bb uses the same os can i still down load from this site as the blacberry is not listed. and if i cant can some one recommend a site many thanks.

Hi, Welcome the the forum,

Just a few things.
The BlackBerry OS is not Symbian, it's a bepoke OS by BlackBerry so you'll need apps designed specifically for the BlackBerry.
As for mail without the BlackBerry plan, it's not possible, you need that plan, but you'll find that plan also gives you unlimited data, so it's well worth the money.

(also, Vodafone is spelt with an f, not a ph! ;) )
