Hey folks, I'm running BES server 4.1.6.9 and recently have been experiencing an issue where once or twice a week the log files on the server will fill up over night and completely fill the drive to the point where the server no longer functions. I can get the server back by mapping a drive to it from another machine and deleting some of the log files and then restarting the VM. But it's impossible to remote into it when it's in this condition. These log files are approaching 20-25 GB and I cannot get one to send to RIM as the server as they must be deleted before I can even get the server back.

Anyone experienced anything like this??

Holy cow, those are some huge log files. How many users do you have on the BES?

I've got 500 on my VM BES and the log files don't come anywhere near the size of yours.

What do you have the logging levels set at for each log file?

Start -> Programs -> BlackBerry Enterprise Server -> BlackBerry Server Configuration -> Logging tab -> Debug Log Level for each log file name.

All Debug log sizes are set to "0"

Oh, I'm also installing the latest SP as we speak.

Have you reviewed the Event Logs for any unusual problems? I had a similar issue but I had 1500 users on one of my VM's. I configured compression for the BES log folder.

Is this 20-25GB total logs over time or 20-25GB of daily logs?

I have a server with 600+ users with debug level logging and the total daily log files are about 650MB. We have a schedule job that zips the logs daily.

Can you post a screenshot of the contents of the a daily BES Log directory? Such as 20090902 ?
