Default Curve 8900 Slow on subfolders and texts

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys. So I have 2 problems with my Curve 8900 that hopefully you guys can help me with:

1) Whenever I make a text, respond to a text, even type out a text and then just save it, my 8900 will freeze up for about 3-5 seconds. I know it's not the network because even when I type out a message and save it instead of sending it, my 8900 will still freeze.

2) Every time I go into a "subfolder" on the 8900 (like the "Games" and "Downloads" subfolders), there's a delay when I'm scrolling through the various applications, so much so that sometimes it's hard to pick the apps.

Both of these problems are not because of stray applications running in the background, as both of these problems have happened when I've only had the main 5 programs running. My Curve is rather new, and I do have a lot of 3rd party applications, but they are not running.

Any ideas? Thanks

What is your file free in options > status?

For issue 1, is this happening for all contacts or one particular contact?

I have 88508835 Bytes free atm. And from what I've experienced, it happens for all of my contacts... It might only be the most recent contact though, but I'm not sure atm.

Next time you try to compose a text, press the menu key and select Remove History, and see if that speeds things up for you.

I've tried clearing out all the messages before, but it still gave me the freezing up problem on the very first contact I sent a message to. Or are you referring to another option?

How did you clear the messages?

Just by saying "delete prior" in the menu button. All texts were erased and I have very few now.

Does it still run slow after a battery pull?

Its hit or miss. Sometimes it will sometimes it won't. I honestly cannot figure out what is making the slowness/freezing up start. Is this just a problem that the 8900 has?

It works fast in the beginning, and then as time goes on it'll slow down it seems. This is insanely aggravating..

Anybody else have this problem?

Default My 8900 pauses when sending and opening SMS

It started after I updated my OS Version to T-Mobile v4.6.1.231

Would this have anything to do with it? Before I updated, I was getting "SMS Inbox Full" messages and after I updated I started to delete some but not many. I seem to think that it happened after I updated.

I just finished clearing out my SMS, MMS, etc folders and now it's back to normal... Thanks! I suppose it wasn't the update after all; for me at least.
