Default Google Talk 2.0? Anyone?

Please Login to Remove!

After doing the latest T-Mobile update on my 8320 my Google Talk version is listed as 1.0.21. The BlackBerry mobile site lists Google Talk 2.0 (NEW) under "What's Hot". Has anyone installed 2.0 yet? Also, I'm fairly inexperienced with apps so can I just install 2.0 from the link and have it automatically upgrade the installed version or do I need to remove the current version first? Thanks in advance!

I'd remove the current version first, but it is worth the upgrade! You can now see user icons and the interface seems to be jazzed up quite nicely.

Been using it for about 4 days now and am happy with it.

You can do an upgrade without uninstalling the older version. Just click on the link and follow the prompts. I upgraded mine yesterday this way.

Just upgraded and yes, looks much nicer. Thanks!

Now maybe they can update the Gmail app to include audio notifications!

that would be nice, the gmail app should have them. Even the new facebook app does.

Does Google Talk use the data plan (like BB Messenger) or does it use SMS like some other IM programs?

Google talk uses data, not SMS.

Seeing these messages here, I too updated Google Talk on my BB. Happy with it and thought I will share to increase the confidence of other who may be contemplating. After download, you need to reboot the bb though.
