Default AT&T OS update from .167

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

I'm timid about updating my ATT bold to a non official OS. Do you guys know when ATT will be updating from .167 so i can have better battery life. Are there any pitfalls to updating to a non official os?

Thanks in advance

What do you mean by 'non official' OS? The .247 OS at the top of the 9000 forum is an 'official' OS and works on all 9000's and carriers.

You can put any carrier's OS on your device. All you need to do is download and install on your PC, delete the vendor.xml file and follow the instructions in the sticky EXACTLY.

However, if your device works as you need it to work and has no problems, why upgrade and risk the chance of something not working correctly? If it ain't broke, there is no real need to fix it, IMHO.

I am there with you, waiting for At&t but it seems that it will not happen soon. so might upgrade to .247 soon, just trying to see what issues some users faced after the upgrade.

You really can't hurt the device. If the upgrade fails, or you don't like the new OS, you can always wipe it and start over. Doesn't void your warranty or anything like that.
