Just because you use Facebook and the like doesn't mean you don't want email security. They are 2 very different things...
The banking, credit cards come online now (if you so choose)... a lot of people might not want their work, i.e. BES to know certain things... thus they may be using BIS. Thus they would want SSL enablement.
