Default Re: Touchscreen Normal?

Here's what I've noticed on my 1st generation PlayBook. At times the screen seems unresponsive to a first touch. I believe this is the PlayBook's power management scheme causing what appears to be a lag in the operating system, when really all it has done is to turn off the touch sensitivity of the screen. That's why the first touch seems to do nothing, but what's really happening is that it's powering up the touch sensitivity. Then a second touch, tapped harder by the user in frustration, seems to work. Actually a normal second touch would have worked. I have tested this myself and it's true - at least the part about the second light touch working like normal. The part about the power management algorithm is what I have surmised from discussions on the PlayBook software.

My iPad(s) do not display this lag/unresponsiveness. I don't know why, but again, I suppose it's the way the operating system manages the power and screen.
