Just a little history.

Good has their own device, the G100 to start with, and they still support it. They then were able to completely rewrite the firmware on the 850/857/950/957 devices that let some converts from RIM to save on hardware money as they were ramping up support for the Treos (I look at this step as Good's attempt to lower the conversion cost for customers). Keep in mind that Good requires a different license for the old RIM/Mobitex device vs. Treo/PPC devices. In the last year, the development on supporting PPCs took off as more PPC based PDA/phones surfaced. Now, they have Global Connect that does not require each cellular provider to "subscribe" for email to reach you.
