For some reason TMobile uses 1700 ghz for its 3g (HSPDA UMTS). As far as I know every other major carrier in North America uses 1900 ghz for their 3g. I believe that the 3g technology that TMobile uses is the same as other gsm (as opposed to CDMA) based carriers in North America, but they use a frequency (1700) that is different than what other gsm based cariers use for 3g.
If I am not mistaken RIM makes a 9700 bold 2 for TMobile (and lots of other carriers). I would be surprised if the 9700 made for TMobile would also work on the other carriers' networks. It may be that RIM does not show the specific frequencies supported as it may depend on which carrier the bold is designed for.
