Good point, I missed the fact that it works at home well. Now I'm wondering if the Gym is restricting him for some reason or is overloaded. Also try a different browser if one is on the phone. Reading some other sites the issue seems to be browser incompatibility with the router equipment or software used by some public sites. downloading a different browser may work.
