Thanks ElvinSloth. The problem was with my BB 9810 Torch, which is not Android, and has a different access to Settings. In any case, although slightly different, all the points that you recommend were already done, without success. Then for no apparent reason, Contacts sync started again, then stopped after one sync. I'm not concerned any longer, because I have upgraded to a BB Classic, and that syncs just fine.
