Love the trackpad and much, much better camera on the 9700.

I use EDGE and not 3G (unless I'm tethering), so battery life on the 9000 is not an issue at all. You can get a day of very, very heavy use out of it, or two days of moderate use.

For me, the most important thing is a keyboard that I can type quickly and accurately on. The 9000 does that best for me, so it is the device of choice for me.

Also, I've owned three BB trackball devices, and have never really had any problems. Keep the device in a case, and swipe your thumb on your pants or shirt to remove any dirt/oil before using the device. If you do those things, you should have little or no troubles with the trackball.
