SMS is a phone function. Was it working previously? As for data, as said above, you need a BB data plan.
Try a battery pull and see if that will fix it. If not please call AT&T and have them troubleshoot it. SMS might not be properly configured.
Please do not post in "text speak". You will get more responses if people can read your post. There are many members who do not use English as their native language and they probably have no clue what you are saying.
