Instructions:

1 - Download and install the T-Mobile 8700g 4.1.0.280/4.1.0.284 software from here.

2 - Delete the Vendor.xml file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

3 - Rename the BlackBerry.alx file located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.1.0.284_P2.0.0.120 to BlackBerry.alx.old

4 - Download and extract the BlackBerry.alx file from here. This should be extracted to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.1.0.284_P2.0.0.120

5 - Open Desktop Software 4.1 and update your handheld.

* Note: I chose to go ahead and remove all of the crap they had installed by default, such as the alternate Input Languages and whatnot.
please explain the update part...how do i update the blackberry?
do i have to reload all the apps? how?
