If you don't have bes, or if bes admin doesn't force you to use bb's security lock, switch to phonebasics's lock. The guys in ottafone did a pretty good job for a better phone lock. I played with it for a few days since their launch. My findings are:
* the lock is pretty solid. It keeps locked after reboot
* it disappear during call, but comes back when call finishes
* it doesn't allow you to switch to other apps during call
* the lock has password help which allows you to configure a password hint; to retrieve password through email; to retrieve password through an alternate phone number (e.g. your home number)
* the lock has an "Owner's Message" which you can add some message to inform phone finder if lost. More impressively, you can change this owner message remotely throu sms or phone call when phone is lost
Very cool app. Their hope page is
