I have just had a 9700 in for repair.

The screen that was faulty was 002-111... HOWEVER...

A retailer send me a 002-444. Yes, 444!

I don`t venture into blackberry world very often, but never seen one before...

Fitted it into this bold and... Didn`t work...

Fitted physically fine, but screen was black, though the backlight appeared to be working, making the black pixels look not as black as when it was turned off...

What advice would you give? Is this 444 revision compatible and one of the filters could have gone down on the board? Or have I been sold something incompatible?

I have pics to prove this once I can post them up.
