Best thing to do is contact Virgin. Be sure and tell them what model you are using. If they are seeling blackberrys, then it makes sense that that they are selling blackberry data service, of course; but confirm that your model is supported.
On the contacts question, you will have to manually edit the contacts, unless there is something new I don't know about.
