I called Garmin support. They mentioned the GPS app was scheduled to be released on Oct 1st but slipped. The releasse is ment to support BB O/S 7 which all the new BB's use. All he could say is keep checking.

That task is now on my weekly calendar. I'll report back on how it works if/when I get it.
