The biggie with me is the large difference in up-to-date maps. My on-board GPS would cost me $300 to update the mapping CDs to the 2006 level. I am currently running a 2002 edition in the vehicle, which doesn't include paved highways built new in the 10 years prior to the 2002 release.

Telenav has all the updates, including highways built last year and even re-alignments to existing highways.

However--I do notice TeleNav is slightly slower to update my position at times, compared to my on-board system. Note I said "at times", not all of the time. Overall, I would use TeleNav when in an unfamiliar area, depending on their ability to be current with the roadways.
