The "Playbook" should be a $29 app store app for my ipad/Galaxy tab that will let me perform the only unique function the PB can do - the bridge. Everything else is spending a ton of money to be a "me too" 6 months too late.

Tablets are all about content delivery and low cost entertainment apps. The Playbook was a sweet piece of hardware with no decent content system.

The best thing coming out of the Playbook is it was a great sandbox for RIM to play around with their QNX and The Amazing Tribe aquisitions without screwing up their core secure phone market. It allowed them to develop the OS and interface without prematurely throwing out a new, but underwhelming phone - a la Palm with WebOS and the orginal Pre.

Now when a BBX phone hits the market it will have some maturity to it, and they won't leave a long lasting stink that no amount of improvement will bring customers back.
