I've actually had this happen to me. When I bought my 8310, the guy sold me insurance on it. When I told him that I thought it wasn't eligible, he told me it was. Thankfully, I checked on it that night and called business care and cancel it.

By the way, he also went ahead and switched me to an enterprise data plan, which I didn't ask for... then when I went back to have him switch me back, he said he could only switch me to the newer, slightly more expensive personal plan (I had the $39.99 one, he had to put me on the $45 one).

One quick call to business care got me back on the expired $39.99 plan...
