Clearly you've never been in the industry. Cost on a car charger (far more complex) for the average company is about $0.25-$0.75 and this would be more simple. Probably not the bulk, but the bottom line they charge what people are willing to pay.... but either way.

I thought I'd want one but then looking at the way they're designed it could be detrimental to have a speaker opening, plus having the red back looks really nice, making it rubber black would be somewhat uglier.
