Since there are no BlackBerrys using 3G (outside of EVDO) in the US, the point is moot. My observations are that GPRS gives you dial up speed - 30-40kbps sustained. EDGE is better, but still not good for browsing via the PC - around 100-200kbps. EVDO is by far the fastest domestically available solution. And I have not observed any difference between T-Mobile's EDGE and Cingular's EDGE. I have two 8800s here side by side...
