Default wav files attached to MMS are sometimes dropped

My VOIP service emails me my voicemail as a wav attachment. Here's the situation:

1. I can recieve that attachment in MS Outlook and then send it to my 8700g via MMS by sending an email from my PC to [my phone number]@tmomail.net. If I do that I recieve the wav file as an MMS attachment and can listen to it on my BlackBerry perfectly.

2. However, if I setup my mail server to forward mail from my voicemail directly to [my phone number]@tmomail.net then I get an MMS message with the text: "Attachment Dropped: <unknown name> of type: <MULTIPART/Voice-Message; Version=2.0;..........."

Why does it drop the attachment if I forward the email directly to the BB from the mailserver but it recieves the attachment if I forward it from Outlook? Anybody have a clue?
